Shipping Container Makeover
The Shipping Container Makeover Project is a
hands-on construction training program where
participants learn practical skills in a safe,
supportive, women-only environment.
Participants will gain experience in:
Carpentry, Electrical basics, Plumbing introduction, Plastering and painting, Flooring installation, Tool use and safety, Work Health & Safety (WHS), Sustainable construction practices
About the Program
FREE Construction Skills Program for Women
- Learn real trade skills while transforming a shipping container into a functional space
- Gain practical, hands-on construction experience
- Build confidence in a supportive environment
- Learn from industry-connected trainers and mentors
- Connect with employers and industry professionals
- Access pathways to jobs, apprenticeships, and further training
- FREE Certificate 1 in Construction for participants
Who is it for?
- Women aged 18–55
- Migrant, refugee or humanitarian background
- Basic English required
- No construction experience neededeal construction project
Program Commitment
Participants are required to:
- Attend at least 90% of sessions
- Participate in weekly drop-in practice sessions
- Actively engage in hands-on learning activities
- Complete Certificate 1 in Construction in August .Two week committment (dates TBC)
